Injured when travelling on a bus into Wakefield City Centre

We recently acted for a client who was travelling on a bus into Wakefield.

As the bus approached our client’s stop, our client got up, rang the bell and the bus driver had believed he had reached the stop and immediately slammed on the brakes, forcing our client to be propelled forwards and he struck his hand on the handrail on the bus.

After making a claim against the bus company, the insurance company admitted liability for the action of their insured, but they made an allegation of contributory negligence as our client stepped out of his seat before the bus came to a stop.

After negotiations, our client received £2,850 for the injury to his hand.
