Injuries from Exploding Aerosol Can in Delivery Vehicle: Protecting Your Rights and Seeking Compensation

Published: 13th June 2024

I acted for a client who is employed as a driver delivering to supermarkets. The drivers are provided with aerosol cans of polish. One of the aerosols had not been secured properly by his workmates, and rolled free, rolling up against a heater inside the vehicle. The can exploded whilst our client was still driving. The cabin was filled with toxic fumes, but our client had to continue to drive until he could stop safely. The fumes caused injuries to his eyes and lungs, and he suffered psychological injuries.

A claim was made against his employer, who accepted liability.

Settlement was agreed for £5,953.82
