Pub Cellar Door Incident Leads to £10,000 Settlement for Client

Published: 27th June 2024

Our client went to his local pub for a drink. After a short while, he was making his way to the toilet. He got distracted and opened the cellar door by mistake. The defendants had failed to secure or lock the cellar door, and when our client opened the door, he fell down the cellar steps, sustaining a fracture to his thumb and lacerations to his head.

Although the defendants initially disputed the claim, following the service of court proceedings, a settlement was negotiated in the sum of £10,000.
