Deeply rooted in our local communities, Liddy’s Solicitors has always focused strongly on ‘doing right by others’, and supporting the people of Barnsley and Wakefield is an important element of the firm’s activities.

In addition to ad hoc events and initiatives, Liddy’s has committed to regularly donate a percentage of annual profits to a carefully selected charity. We’re delighted to announce that our current chosen charity is Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS).
BIADS uses every pound it receives to improve the lives of Barnsley residents with dementia and the families and friends who support and care for them.
By providing information, advice and support as well as activities and social events, the charity aims to help local community members to live well with dementia.

A helping hand for the homeless
We are also keen supporters of this fantastic voluntary movement which is run by Barnsley’s Community Hero for 2017, Adie Flute. Adie saw and understood how tough life on the streets can be, and founded the movement to encourage others to take a small step – and make a very big difference to those in desperate need or sleeping rough. The idea is so simple: each winter, you fill a rucksack with clean, quality items that will help make life a little more comfortable for those without a place to call ‘home’… Perhaps a warm fleece, gloves and a hat, a thermos flask, a sleeping bag, and some non-perishable food items.
You then hand in your rucksack donation at one of several official drop-off points; one of these is a safe and secure storage room at Liddy’s main office, The Old Courthouse in Regent Street, Barnsley, which we’re only too happy to provide for this purpose.
