Delay to Small Claims Court Decision on Personal Injury Claims

Update on issue of Government’s decision to raise the Small Claims Court limit for personal injury claims.

The news was welcomed this week which announced that a decision on whether the limit for personal injury claims in small claims court would be raised, has been delayed until the autumn.

The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) stated:

“An announcement was previously expected in the summer, but APIL now hopes that the later date will allow for the Transport Select Committee’s inquiry into whiplash claims to have some influence.

“Over the next few weeks, APIL will meet with individual members of the justice committee to discuss the association’s concerns about the Government’s proposals.”
