The Barnsley based offices of Home Instead, a leading domiciliary care provider, have partnered with Liddy’s Solicitor’s, an established law firm specialising in conveyancing, clinical negligence, and personal injury claims.

“Home Instead is ideally positioned to help our clients,” says Kevin Liddy, Managing Director of Liddy’s Solicitors. “70% of our clients are disabled or elderly, meaning we have a huge overlapping client base.”

“In a case of personal injury or clinical negligence, where an individual has succeeded in their claim, they are entitled to be placed in a financial position that optimises their recovery. That can include paying for care that is needed because of the negligence. Care at Home are ideally placed to provide that care, so that the client can begin on the road to rehabilitation and recuperation.”

The experienced staff of Home Instead will be carrying out care assessments for Liddy’s clients, providing evidence that can later be used in litigation. Individuals living with life-changing injuries will often need bespoke Care Plans implemented, which Home Instead can provide with their tailor-made care services. They have recently moved into bringing clinical services into the home, such as catheter care, specialist healthcare equipment, rehabilitation, and vital signs monitoring.

“There is a considerable synergy between our two companies. Our role in acting for a client is not only to obtain maximum damages, but to ensure the optimisation of recovery. If rehabilitation is not optimised, it can have a devastating effect.”

Home Instead will provide client-centred, bespoke home care options, supporting clients to recover after medical negligence and personal injury claims, promoting independent living.

The spouses and family members of those affected by medical negligence often experience loss, whether this be a bereavement or a change in a loved one’s capacity. Home Instead also offer companionship calls to reduce isolation and keep conversation channels open.

“We are excited to begin our partnership with Liddy’s, and work together to support those living with life-changing injuries to remain independent,” said Alison Taylor, General Manager of Home Instead Sheffield and Barnsley. “Particularly now we offer services that would traditionally require hospitalisations, people can recover and live safely and comfortably at home.”

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to not only expand our capacity to care,” she continued. “But also join a common goal of advocating for the recovery and recuperation of adults affected by medical negligence using our Healthcare at Home services.”
