Injured in a multi-storey car park

Published: 18th January 2021

We recently acted for a client who parked her vehicle in a multi-storey car park.

After parking and exiting her vehicle, she walked towards the exit. Unbeknown to our client, there was a short step/lip on the car parking bay, approximately three to four inches in height which took our client by unawares. As she exited her vehicle, she tripped over the step/lip and sustained injuries to her ankle and knee.

The Defendant insurance company admitted liability. We alleged that the Defendants were in breach of the Occupiers Liability Act for failing to keep our client reasonably safe when attending their premises.

Our client received £6,500 for her injuries.

This case shows the variety of personal injury claims that can arise.
