Injured when receiving beauty treatment

Published: 25th January 2021

We recently acted for a client who attended a beauty salon to have false eyelashes glued in.

Our client was told to close her eyes so that the lashes could be glued in. After the eyelashes were applied, our client was unable to open her eyes and it took approximately 20 minutes before our client was able to fully open her eyes.

As a result of our client’s accident, she sustained severe pain in her eye, due to the glue entering her eye. Our client also suffered from blurred vision. Thankfully, our client’s symptoms resolved after eight weeks.

The Defendant insurance company initially disputed our client’s claim. Proceedings were issued against the beauty salon.

Initially, the Defendant solicitors offered £1,500. After further negotiations, our client was awarded £3,000 for her injury.

This case shows the variety of personal injury claims that can arise.

If you have had an accident and suffered an injury that wasn’t your fault, call us on 01226 731314 to see if we can help. We generally act on a ‘no win no fee’ basis.
