Road traffic accident on a main road in Wakefield City Centre

Published: 15th February 2021

We recently acted for a client who was crossing a main road in Wakefield City Centre.

Our client crossed halfway across the road and was making his way across the remainder of the road when a vehicle overtook a stationary vehicle, running into our client. As a result, our client suffered soft tissue injuries to his leg, arm, back and collarbone.

The Defendant driver drove from the accident scene and did not stop. The accident was reported to the Police.

A claim for damages was made to the Motor Insurance Bureau, who dealt with the claim under the untraced drivers agreement. The Motor Insurance Bureau arranged medical treatment and our client’s medical examination. After negotiations with the Motor Insurance Bureau, our client recovered his loss of wages, together with £6,500 for his injuries.

This case shows the variety of personal injury claims that can arise.
