Injury at podiatrist causes hearing loss and vertigo

Published: 12th May 2018

We settled a claim on behalf of a client who was visiting a local podiatrist.

As he got off the treatment couch, his trouser leg caught on a lever which was sticking up from the couch. It caused him to stumble forwards, running into the wall. As a result of the impact, he suffered hearing loss and vertigo.

A claim was brought on the basis that the lever was an obvious danger and the claimant should have been warned that it was there. The claim was defended.

Proceedings were issued and the case was settled for £25,000.00.
