Misdiagnosis of Tuberculosis causes death, family awarded £60,000 damages

Published: 22nd November 2018

We acted for the family of a patient who was treated at Barnsley Hospital.

He developed Tuberculosis (TB), but Barnsley Hospital failed to undertake standard tests for TB. As a result, he did not receive the test results that raised the likelihood of TB, but treatment was not given to him as it should have been and as a result, he died.

The family claimed damages. He died in his 60s. As a result, his family sued Barnsley Hospital and the claim was settled for £60,000.00.
